Nini Leaver MSc, Accredited MBACP Registered Psychotherapist
For some, the love and support offered by family and friends is enough to get them through difficult times. But for others, this may not be enough. A problem may persist over a long time, perhaps advice is given that is well meant but not wanted, sometimes it can feel like others just don't understand your inner experiences, or it may be too difficult to talk to people who are themselves affected. In those instances it may come as a relief for you to talk to a therapist who has no personal involvement, is able to offer a nuanced understanding of what you are going through and can help you to find a way through troubled times. And this support is offered in the safety of the therapeutic relationship (the unique relationship between the therapist and the client).
